Madhya Pradesh shares its border with 5 states namely Uttar Pradesh to the northeast, Chhattisgarh to the southeast, Maharashtra to the south, Gujarat to the west, and Rajasthan to the northwest.
·   Madhya Pradesh, meaning Central Province, is a state in central India. Its capital is Bhopal, and the largest city is Indore, with JabalpurGwalior, and Ujjain being the other major cities.
·   Nicknamed the "Heart of India" due to its geographical location in India, Madhya Pradesh is the second-largest state in the country by area. With over 75 million inhabitants, it is the fifth-largest state in India by population.
·   It borders the states of Uttar Pradesh to the northeast, Chhattisgarh to the southeast, Maharashtra to the south, Gujarat to the west, and Rajasthan to the northwest.
·   Its total area is 308,252 km2.
·   Before 2000, when Chhattisgarh was a part of Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh was the largest state in India and the distance between the two furthest points inside the state, Singoli and Konta, was 1500 km. Konta is presently in Sukma district of Chattisgarh state.

    Madhya Pradesh state is bordered on the west by Gujarat, on the northwest by Rajasthan, on the northeast by Uttar Pradesh, on the east by Chhattisgarh, and on the south by Maharashtra.

    मध्य प्रदेश भारत का एक राज्य है, इसकी राजधानी भोपाल है। मध्य प्रदेश १ नवंबर, २००० तक क्षेत्रफल के आधार पर भारत का सबसे बड़ा राज्य था। इस दिन मध्यप्रदेश राज्य से 16 जिले अलग कर छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य छत्तीसगढ़ की स्थापना हुई थी। मध्य प्रदेश की सीमाऐं पांच राज्यों की सीमाओं से मिलती है। इसके उत्तर में उत्तर प्रदेश, पूर्व में छत्तीसगढ़, दक्षिण में महाराष्ट्र, पश्चिम में गुजरात, तथा उत्तर-पश्चिम में राजस्थान है।
